The benefits of an Online Store are as follows:

> You don’t have to stock your own inventory eventually
> NO STAFF! Love that! Keep it simple
> You have no rental overheads like with a shop just some fees to pay ebay
> You can sell anything you like within reason
> You can be up and running within a week and selling
> You can run this shop from anywhere on your laptop from home or in a coffee shop
> You can have a few shops set up if you like once you master your initial store
> You can create great profits when you know which area to sell in master so you can dominate

 

 

So, as you can see – there are many great benefits to starting your own online store. But is it simple?

Is anything simple worth pursuing?  Not always!  But this is.

The reason for this is that there are always things to learn and there are also scammers out there.  Yepp just like with every other kind of online business. YOUR job and MY JOB is to avoid these and to find reputable companies to work alongside in order to have a smooth operation. After all – the last thing you want is to sell goods that aren’t being delivered to you or to others.

SO where do you begin with an online store?

You will be ultimately sourcing the right companies, but first you decide on what you are going to sell! SO HOW?

 

> You find a passion and match it to a market need
> You find a hot selling niche or area or sub niche
> You look at top products that sell on e-bay and take notes
> You create a business plan in order to have a vision and projections of income and you can also present to the right supplier if necessary
> You will conduct homework as to what your competition is like and how to beat them

 

Just by knowing these things you will have a head start on the rest of the newbies. Luckily for you I have the right resources right here inside this blog post which I will share with you in a moment so that you don’t have to keep searching for the right people to work with.

Ok, so let’s talk about what to do now!

What I did was started selling on E-Bay to get a feel for what was going on. I suggest that you too get onto e-bay and start to sell some items from around your home. This gives you an idea of the process behind selling. Once you have sold a few things you can then ramp things up a bit. You can begin to find sellers or dropshippers who can supplly goods for you and for your store. So, you want to do this……

 

1) Start selling on E-bay and get used to the platform
2) Start buying a few cheap items and get used to the process and tweak your listings to get maximum margin from them
3) Look at what are some hot products and what is selling and determine which area you will be engaged in
4) Build up your e-bay profile so that you can start to sell more and gain respect and good customer service
5) Once you find the right dropshippers for your products you can then build a niche site
6) You can start an online website/store and house your hot products or hire an expert to build your store for you
7) Do keyword research as to what areas you may want to sell. Some competition is healthy so figure out who your competition is 
8) Try looking at a Niche that is branching off of a more general niche. For example, say you want to sell jeans then maybe you want to look at just high end adults designer jeans so that you are more specific. (See how the niche becomes more defined there?)  Some say that unknown niches are also great ways to earn as not many people try to sell in these areas, so you could dominate a lesser known niche.
9) Look at E-Bay power sellers and see some of what they are doing, as you want to be leveling up with the big players at some point.

Learn from these companies and then begin. If you need to invest to get trusted companies details then by all means do so but just remember that inside these sites there is so much FREE info to keep you going for a while. Inside the E-sources site for example there are FREE E-Bay course which I highly recommend you MASTERING OK if you want to do this right and get your online store popping!

 

 

These e-sources and resources are the most reliable sources on earth to avoid getting scammed out of money and time. No-one wants to be messed around so I suggest you learn from my experience as it will help you greatly.

 

 

Why start with E-Bay before an Online Store?

Simple, because you want to LEARN THE ROPES. Get involved and look at what others are doing as this is a great way to make some extra money whilst you are learning and you may even rise up to becoming an e-bay power seller where your credability will allow you to make massive profits. You may not need a store if your E-Bay store becomes a huge hit BUT I recommend having a store anyway.

Personally I love to have both. You cannot beat e-bay for hot traffic, viewers and buyers as it is HUGE, however it is nice to have the PERSONAL TOUCH when having your own online store because people see you as a SPECIFIC SELLER of quality goods as long as you have a great site and your site is RANKED HIGH in google then people will find you and keep coming back for more.

The key is to initially be able to redirect your ebay profile to your store so you get the benefit of the targeted traffic from ebay.

Keep Things Simple!

This is true with any new venture. Know your business and know what and why you are doing what you are doing. When you are clear then people will see this and like your brand alot more. Don’t just try and sell anything and everything but be defined in your plan with what you wish to stand for. CLEAR SELLING POINTS MEANS CLEAR BUYING.

Tips For E-bay When Starting Out!

Always look at what you would be prepared to pay for something when selling yourself. So for example if you are selling designer jeans then compare what other people are selling them for and also think about WHAT THEY ARE REALLY WORTH. I know when I go to E-bay what my top price is when I want an item. I won’t pay over that price. Others are the same and I expect YOU RE TOO?!

You know what your limit is and how you VALUE GOODS so do the same. Be fair and look at your return. Too many people on e-bay get it wrong as they start a bidding offer at say £29.99 for trainers and then leave it to run for 7 days but no-one will bid on that until the last minute. What I do is offer a low starting bid to get some offers rolling in but I also add the buy now button so that If someone is prepared to buy the trainers then I have sold them quickly.

Give people options so that they are interested. If you are sure that something will sell for £29.99 then put BUY NOW and forget the bidding. You wil get the idea when you begin playing around with things and noticing what people’s minds are like. I always look at it as if I am buying it. Does it get my juices going? Why? Make is IRRESISTIBLE and you will make sales VERY QUICKLY I PROMISE.
