Is Turning Passions Into Profits Is Something You Can Achieve?

 

Isn’t this whole passion to profit thing all a bit cliche and over done?  Some may say so, but it’s exactly what I do.  So – it works for me.

 

It’s nothing new to take what you love the most or what you know about and to translate it into something you do for a living tho right?   

This has been going on for many years – as those great few minds challenged their abilities to create new and revolutionary ideas and inventions and the creative minded became entrepreneurs. Today, we are in the fortunate position where anyone is able to take ideas and to examine whether they will work in some form or not.  And so- the likes of YOU and I get to build on our ideas in so many ways.

Today’s world is a world of opportunity to express ourselves and develop our passions into sustainable business models.   Just think of how many types of Small Business there are now. In fact – I have built a business around me. I AM THE PRODUCT.  AND THE SERVICE.  I AM THE BRAND.  So, I can add as many things as I like to my brand. This equals various income streams.  BUT and here’s the but:  Most people fail in Small Businesses because they think that it will be easy and a great escape from their job.

 

 

 

In other words – Lot’s of people talk about turning passions to profits but very few actually achieve it.  Many dream of it but, few actually succeed.

Why?  There are many reasons but a major one is that THEY TRY A MILLION THINGS AND DON’T PUT 110% INTO ONE THING.  They commonly want the magic pill!

So where does this leave you?  The truth is that it is way more common that creative types are formulating plans and taking ‘ideas’ and developing new things from them. Technology has moved on so far and increasingly in the last 10 years or so it has enabled so many to carve out self employed situations, so we are lucky to be able to design and create something out of an idea in this time.   The key is in CONSISTENCY.  We cannot expect something to replace a job income if we are not consistent and relentless.

Take the laptop lifestyle.  It is becoming very popular now to start an online business from many of the business models and choices and that’s because many dream of working on a laptop at home or ANYWHERE!  But, again many never achieve that. Yes many people work from home now more than ever but working for a business or company which is cool anyway, but is that the dream?  For me no and that’s because i was always a rebel.  I don’t want to work for another.  I hate being told what to do and I don’t believe in many larger companies or corporations whose ethics are frankly outdated and backwards and many companies today lack leadership for the masses.  So, i’d rather help Small Business owners in a role which I am passionate about.

I can highly recommend that you do something which you can be passionate doing every day.

SO here are a few tips from my experience and from my clients personal successes:

  2. CREATE THE ULTIMATE ROLE which is authentic to WHO YOU ARE
  3. KNOW WHAT YOU CAN DO VERY WELL AND WHAT PRODUCTS/SERVICES with compliment your passion
  4. KNOW THE MARKET DEMAND and research it very well deeply
  5. BE UNIQUE and differentiate from all others with your angle
  6. CREATE A ROBUST BUSINESS PLAN and get financial advice in case investors are required
  7. HIRE THE BEST TEAM MEMBERS who share your vision so they are just as passionate
  8. ALWAYS SEE THE BIGGER PICTURE so that you have the vision tight and are constantly measuring growth
  9. GET THE RIGHT TOOLS for the job period no excuses
  10. KNOW YOUR MISSION ethics, culture, systems as a good leader does
  11. LEAD like a modern leader and train to be the best leader so that you can communicate effectively and create a dynamic work place for all

 

There are tons of ways today where you can monetise information and package it up as a value driven power house.  All I do is share words and talk to people, THAT’S IT!   I package what I teach.  And offer experiences.  You may not need a large team either – in fact my team are 10 and none of us work in the same place, so it is possible to play with structure and set up to suit all and that’s the beauty of today’s Small business.

We have to give creative freedom to each person in their role in order them to be their best and most capable.  Let them fly and be released from past ideas of limitation they may have experienced in outdated workplaces.  I felt like a butterfly when I was free of what i thought life would be.  Some of us need that feeling and we can thrive.  And with a great team you also have great productivity to ensure the customer is getting the very best experience.

 

So people want to buy experiences.  But you knew that right? 

All sounds great huh, but are you really cut out for being a business owner?

For many, the thought of having freedom and independence whilst working are highly desirable yet very few actually make it as they don’t treat it as a business.  One of the greatest things I ever learned is that you must find something, be very good at it and express that with the right audience but do so WITH MASSIVE ACTION.  So, of course there is more of it than that but – that’s the basic concept.  ACTION can beat anything, so even if we face challenges which we will we can carry on.

No matter whether you are In U.S, UK and Canada and Australia, these are prime areas for today’s Small Business culture and for potentially massive growth, but even in third world countries now there are those capitalising in the global trade online and offline.  But some of us are more traditional and we love to have physical products such as food and clothing that we can promote and share with the community or with the globe. Shop owners, restaurateurs, bricks and mortar Business owners have a passion for goods and for products and services that appeal in a very physical sense. They love to use their skills to promote and sell and share their finest works IN PERSON.

And in local, community driven, vibrant often buoyant markets the trusted and in-demand trades will probably have a home for many years to come should they cater to the specific needs of that community based market but things are of course changing.

 

No matter what your passions are – you and I can pretty much choose how we express these and develop our very own brands, businesses and companies from just that initial idea.

So, traditions in business ‘whilst still around and very alive’ are not the only ways to create something very powerful and useful.  You are reading this and this is my business, so there is no reason why you also cannot forge out a digital career or enterprise in your given niche or sector. 

I am sure you are aware already of how startups are popping up all over the place, apps, technological tools, solutions, innovations and improvements in current areas are always being pushed to the limits of what is possible.  And so change is constant and this is great for you and me!

My passion has always been with helping others through writing books, blogs, courses and Coaching which can help my clients to live happier and more successful lives.

So, I love what I do and I also love to see passions expressed with my clients ideas.  And you also have a right to take your idea or ideas and to develop them in unique ways with the right tools and resources into something which you can be truly proud of. Just like you, I am curious about what is possible and I am happiest when helping those passion driven types create and evolve who they are as well as what they create.  There are various elements that are required to become a self sustained small business owner, so let’s get into this now.  But first I believe in PASSION. As ‘if’ I was wasn’t passionate I would not bother in the first place. I also created a PURPOSE from this passion and developed them into PROFITS.   This may sound very cliche or typical of what some dreamers say, but for me, it’s how I work,  And it works for me.  Once I know the process I then set about looking at WHO EXACTLY will even want what I may offer.

And it all starts with knowing who you are selling to.  Without knowing that, you have no market area and so, you have no way of knowing who will buy you goods or services.  So this is a vital starting point.  But once you know this through research and development and in turn create a product that meets those demands and builds a bridge between your product and your buyer you are starting something very special IF IT STANDS OUT.

How do i create profits from my passions?

Well – as a Coach I can have multiple products and services and thus many streams of income.

 

My Coaching starts at £1600 for a complete Program of Small Business Growth with Planning, discovery, design and development. 

My Self Study Course is £29.70 which has immense value so I over deliver there thus sell in volume for a low price

My Books sell at between $2 and $10 and again these sell in volume whilst positioning me as the expert.

My Blog houses many affiliate products and services which on average creates between £2-3k per month. Varying price points in what I promote there.

Selling on average 4 Coaching packages per month gives me £6400. Then selling around 100+  courses per month means I can create another £2,970.   Add book sales and affiliate products and that is around £12,870.  Now this can be slightly higher or slightly lower. But, the more I am able to create which also includes my list means that I can re-invest this money back into my small business whilst also creating cash reserves or funds for the business. There will always be unplanned, short-term unexpected costs so I save this in a Business bank account.   I also invest some of the money into further growing businesses and other potential assets.

Its win win as we both get results.  I have my books courses and podcast which also position me.  This all took about 5 years to refine and get right.  I also use Youtube, Instagram, FB, Linked in and Twitter to connect with the right clients through JVing. I build relationships and help others and they help me.

KEY TIP:  Don’t limit yourself or your ideas based in your experience, past or knowledge.  Think BIG and look at the wider picture. Anything is possible today if you can first imagine it.

Here are some ways you can start to earn extra income RIGHT NOW:

  1. eBay: on average people have around $4k worth of stuff lying around the home. Once you have sold your stuff you will have expertise to sell other people’s products
  2. Fiverr: There are many ways to earn here as a freelancer. You can take tests on Fiverr site to brush up on your skills and then start selling. Gradually raising your Fiverr prices.
  3. FB Marketplace and Gumtree. You can find your junk and buy stuff from charity shops and resell brands.  I made $5k from this in 6 months as I tested it.
  4. Start a BLOG. This WordPress blog helps me to earn every month subscription revenue meaning I do nothing and get paid every month from my products/affiliate products
  5. Be a ‘Go-To’ expert Coach/Mentor in your niche. You have expertise/experience in something you can monetise that. How? define your niche, get a website, promote YOU.
  6. Write ebooks. It’s not hard to write ebooks. And you can leverage Amazons site and others which are great to promote on.   Do you read? What makes these books so good?
  7. Taskrabbit.  There are jobs on here for some extra cash if you are a student or just want a change.  This is not a business but you can work more for yourself.
  8. Create Powerful YouTube Videos. The more views and subscriptions the more likely you ae to earn an income. And you can backlink to your website/blog/offers.
  9. Create a membership site. Charge others to become a member. Have various Membership price points. Offer free trial. Find niche which you can dominate& has high demand.
  10. Create a Course. Use Thinkific’s free option.  Upload video’s, books, pdf’s, audios & modules to the platform. You can charge a variety of prices. What content can you share?
  11. Become a private chef. You can travel to others homes and charge good money to create exquisite food and drink.
  12. AIRbnb.  Got a spare room?  Earn some extra income letting it out.
  13. Sell your photos/art work. If you already have that passion why not monetize it.  I was an Art student, so I paint & charge good prices as I connected in art establishments.
  14. Container Business. This could costs 10-20k to start initially so this may take some investment, but if you look around ay what is needed in your area you could monopolise.
  15. Greater investment still a franchise. Great thing is an established brand, structure, system so risk is potentially lower and there is potential for growth buying further.
  16. Start a mobile Coffee/drink bar.  Today there are horseboxes converted into mobile businesses. Take them to events, festivals and Business conferences.
  17. Start a Mobile food van.  What food area are you greatest at cooking/baking/making?
  18. Become a freelance consultant. You probably know what you are good at or would love to do and so your time can become money. Build a brand, exposure in your area.
