People ask me all of the time this… ‘Greg can you tell me WHY ‘SO CALLED’ Business Coaching and Professional experts leaders don’t lead?

 

I’m not always sure what to say really!  I think that many call themselves experts and simply don’t deliver what they are meant to deliver.  If you are a professional in ANYTHING, you should give 110% towards your client.  Of course, Coaching varies, and so I will always explain to people that coaches guide, support, and empower.  That’s cool and all, but ARE CLIENTS GETTING RESULTS?

 

Personally I work with a person until they SUCCEED.   And that’s it.

By the way this is not just Business Coaches but ALL COACHES.

I will be there every step of the way if they put the work in.   So, of course both sides have to play the game and be in otherwise results will not happen.

But, why is it that other coaches don’t use 1 On 1 Coaching to REALLY HELP the people in THEIR Business?  They see 1ON1 as weak or not leveraging maximum revenue, but this is not the idea.  I may want 6 figures, 7 figures or more, and many talk of this, but HOW MUCH DO THEY HELP in exchange for that kind of income?

Have you seen the Facebook ads and posts saying ‘Are you a Coach trying to help others?’  Then you should be making $900,000 per year or you are charging too little’.

What a load of horse shit.

These so called experts will also…

‘They take your money and LEAVE YOU TO IT!

But, is That being a leader?  Is This Professional Business Coaching or anything else?  I don’t think so.

As a Coach I have to get to the core of an issue as soon as I can and deliver the greatest help I can.

That’s it!

Now, there are many ways to Coach these days- and sure ‘some’ will offer you 1On1 or a system.

Very often they are happy to take your money but they do not support you throughout the entire process. But I am different, because I come from a background where I believe in loyalty.

Being loyal with my client is my LIFE>

OK, so if we can follow through with this system and we are on our own with some support now and then that cool.  But personally I always preferred the 1ON1 option.  I personally needed someone there to support me, to guide me and to help me reach my financial goals.

 

I didn’t need another system!

 

So, across my education thus far I have spent well over £50k yes £50k on Coaches and for a while I MADE NOTHING BACK.  I didn’t see what was delivered to me.  Was it me? Was it them? 

All I knew was, I was meant to be growing.  I did grow, in wisdom, and eventually in revenue only because, I could see what I NEEDED TO DO.

So, I decided that I needed to become a Coach in order to GET RESULTS!  I eventually clawed back the money and then created a great business, but only because I stepped up and HELPED people until they got results.  Who needs another ‘so called’ expert who has little to no experience taking your money?

So let’s be clear here – a COACH guides and a MENTOR teaches.  So, if you hire a Coach they will of course expect you to do the work as they empower you and support you and this is what I will do with my clients, but I will also MENTOR, as some need it more.

The point is, if someone is prepared to pay me £2k then I want to be able to get them their desired results.

 

This is what I LIVE BY.  Have you seen this before?  

 

When others are willing to take your money, be careful who you spend it with and get familiar with their experience first of all.  Choose an expert with experience, integrity and loyalty.

FOR ME – taking money without delivering  amazing results is NOT HOW LEADERSHIP or COACHING is supposed to be at all. 

 

I don’t personally AGREE with that.  

 

 

I BELIEVE this is the way to RUN A BUSINESS using these 4 principles and only then can you CALL YOURSELF A COACH/MENTOR!

This is precisely WHY so many people arriving at my door with their tail between their legs mopping up their tears and in shock at the level of A_HOLES OUT THERE calling THEMSELVES COACHES!

Sorry, but I had to swear!

It amazes me how MANY people TAKE YOUR MONEY and EXPECT YOU to magically BECOME AND OVERNIGHT success.  Its not good practice at all.

I am frankly sick of learning of these horror stories – as it’s NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

So, I am a little PEEVED writing this. In fact I am up at 5:50 am as I couldn’t sleep because it was on my mind after I spoke to yet another person who had spent premium prices only to be left. 

 

THIS HAS TO END!

To me this is like someone giving me keys to a tank and saying GOOD LUCK OLD CHAP!

You cannot run a successful business unless you get some expert guidance and advice even if you are motivated and determined!

Do you look for OFFERS? I do!

Do you look for a LITTLE EXTRA for a LITTLE LESS MONEY? I do!

We all want the best that money can get us!

We want a deal.  But we are also prepared to pay a little more for luxury, or premium right? Of course.

 

That’s only fair nowadays as ‘we are all’ becoming more aware of where we spend and we are trying to cut back, but also – getting what we can for our money. 

 

 

ALL GOOD as far as I am concerned!   I like promotion as long as it is backed up with QUALITY. 

But, I am sure you know when you get shoddy service?

 

It Sucks Huh? Yep!  People find it too hard to just be selling god quality, or they are not considerate to you, and it is such a hard job for them to even smile at you!  Yeah I know!

I find these people everywhere.  The thing is, how much effort does it really take to be good at what you do?  How much?  What does it take to deliver the best you can?

If you are going to be in business THEN DELIVER THE BEST YOU CAN.

 

Especially when you are in the business of providing a product or service where you want REPEAT CUSTOM.

So it is VERY IMPORTANT that we go the extra mile.  TO BE THE COMPLETE COACH.

It is the only way I know.  After all ‘WHY’ are people in the business if they are NOT PASSIONATE ABOUT HELPING OTHERS?  I know that many are, and I get that, but then be passionate about RESULTS also.

People want to trust us, and to love us. They want to LIKE us and believe in us.

 

So I always say 'be there' for them.
How hard is that?


 

Most people don’t care HOW MUCH YOU KNOW until THEY KNOW HOW MUCH YOU CARE!

They HAVE TO feel IMPORTANT and it is my job as a Coaching Leader to share what I already have and know and to be that solution.  My job is to serve them from my heart.

 

 

What Is It You Really Want?

 

I Ask People This Question EVERY DAY!

See, this is the easiest way I can share what I am passionate about because I know that – when I know what another wants I can quickly determine if I can help them or not.  I wouldn’t waste my time ‘or’ theirs if I cannot serve them.  And that’s what a professional does.  They turn down money if they need to.

 

We are ALL PEOPLE in business. Every service organisation has an obligation to FULFILL it’s position to US!

> True 1 on 1 Online Success Coaching
> Encouragement and direction

> Support, Guidance and tuition
> Regular meetings to talk and review
> Leadership
> Task orientated actions
> The TRUTH NO Hype Or Crap

WHEN I WAS STARTING OUT that’s exactly what I wanted also!

I am taking a stand and saying ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. The Coaching Industry has to UNDERSTAND THE CHANGE THAT’S NEEDED now – and stop being second best to other professions or be an amateur!

It’s not about TALKING the talk it is about walking also.   Too many try to seduce us with amazing marketing and branding so we become hypnotized into their business and then we let go of £3k and wonder what that went on.

It’s simple – If I don’t do WHAT I AM WORTH THEN WHY AM I DOING IT?

 

This is a shortish post and a rantish post and I’m OK with that, as the point I am simply just sharing my view. The world is full of those who simply do not deliver and yet charge a fortune to work with them but is that good enough?  I don’t think so.  Be better, do better.

I ran several businesses over the years both offline and online and one thing I always applied was this…

‘both parties have to feel that there is a WIN WIN!’    That’s it.  Both have to feel happy.

I don’t believe in overcharging and under delivering.

Let’s be clear – Many Business coaches sincerely wish to help grow a business, and they are passionate about what they do as am I.   And there are many who are qualified to Coach and experienced enough to make a difference, so good for you, BUT there are many who just want to take £3/4k from a person and send them a load of information or a system and let them carry on on their own.  So called GURU’S, which we all know of, don’t always deliver the goods, so I am humbly and sincerely saying be aware with whom you choose.

Does this Coach have any education or experience with business?

Do they really care about you and whether they can help you or not?

Do they have a proven track record of getting results?

Do they work with clients until they see growth?

Do they support with a Business Plan, financial matters, Investments & with mastering the business model?

Do they ensure that you are getting into the right business type or structure?

Do they ensure that deep research is fully undertaken in the right markets?

Do they help you with mindset and being a leader?

Do they help with effective communication, building relationships, strategy, teams and roles?

Do they help your vision, ethics, mission, goals, vision, message and with achieving demand?

Do they help with or can they recommend experts who can help with your UVP, KPIS, SMART goals, TOS, TAC, BS, CR AND DR, NAV, P&L, QA, OS, AIDA, CMS, CRM, SWOT, UV, SM, PR, R&D?

Do they determine with you your Brand or how that with connect with the ultimate client whilst also delivering the right kind of look, feel, name, logo, relevance, timing and trends?

 

Not all coaches will cover all of these areas, but it is something I certainly will do and believe are critical to reducing and mitigating risk.  8 out of 10 Small to Medium businesses fail as they DON’T take all these things into account.  Now, whilst some of these areas are more for the startup and initial exploration, other areas are for the early stages and continual development of the business.
